Early Career Teachers

Mentoring, Development, Career Progression

Forum

September 21-23, 2016

Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Kingston, ON, Canada

The aim of the first pan-Canadian Teacher Induction and Mentoring Forum was to initiate the pan-Canadian conversations among the interested parties who work with early career teachers from all provinces and territories in Canada. We are delighted that over 80 scholars, administrators, teacher induction and mentoring program coordinators, representatives from teacher associations, ministries/departments of education, universities, school boards, schools, and community organizations from across Canada took part in the forum.

The forum featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Megan Tschannen-Moran and workshops on Evocative Coaching (Dr. Megan and Bob Tschannen-Moran) and Adapting Mentorship for Well-being and Resilience Development (Drs. Benjamin Kutsyuruba and Keith Walker). In addition, it included pan-Canadian expert panel research presentations, round-table discussions, early career teacher and school administrator panels and conversations sessions.

You can view and download the final version of the Forum Program, as well as access the forum’s presentations and materials at the Online Repository page.
